A LESSON FROM FLYING GEESE: GOING SWEET HOME
Dear Wowsarang Friends in the Lord Jesus,
We had a first snowstorm of this winter. From
now on, shoveling snow will be a kind of a weekly chore for me and my neighbors
for a long while in this area, the Upper Midwest. While taking a break from
shoveling, I heard noises by Canadian geese flying over my head. They were busy
with flying practices for their long winter migration journey to down South part
of a Latin America.
I often wondered how many times a day these
geese took those flying lessons prior to their actual journey to the South. How
faithful and dutiful those geese are to their Creator Who gave them the
migration sensor!
I am quite sure some of those geese will
take their first trip to the South. Yet their seasoned senior generation group
must have wintered in the South in the previous years. It means these sensors
know from their past experiences, how warm and cozy down there. That’s their sweet home for a whole winter. That’s what they are aiming at while taking
these flight lessons!
Where is my final and sweet home? How cozy
and restful it will be? More often than not I wondered about these questions when
I looked up to watch those geese fly over my head in their beautiful and
orderly lines.
Unlike St. Paul I have never been in the
Heaven personally. Yet I know from the
Bible the Heaven is my eternal and sweet home. But do I really, really, really long
for it and ever ready to go there by faithfully taking Spiritual Flight Lessons
for my safe Heaven-bound journey?
As the Creator God put migrating sensor to
Canadian geese, He did same to our souls.
The difference between those geese and we
is this: unlike those obedient geese, we don’t pay much attention to our spiritual
sensors. No! We don’t pay much attention to the changing seasons and to the
necessary flight lessons for our Heavenward journey.
Are we not better than these geese in God’s
eyes? The Heaven is my sweet home and yours as well. What for are we living today?
Your brother and pastor,
Sunny Boaz
